Shut the fuck up!
I am so sick of hearing, "And the writer's strike...." "Becuase of the writer's strike...." "I'm not crossing the picket line..."

SHUT THE FUCK UP!

Writers, fucking get over yourselves. I'm sorry. But I think it's absolutely ridiculous. No doubt you were making a hell of a lot of money anyway. Moreso than the majority of people in the country. At least you had a job! A lot of people don't! And you were making all sorts of cash! You should be happy you even get to do a job you have a passion for: writing!

Fucking get over yourselves.

I have to disagree.

Sure there may be one or two writers, but for the most part these people are paid pittance. It's not just movie writers or tv show writers. It's also people who write things for the news and so on. Writers from all walks of life basically. And unless your a big name in the industry you get paid pittance.

Also, it's not just the writers who are being affected. It's the janitors and cleaners and other little guys all because of this one strike.

it's a bit deal.

To me, it seems a bit selfish. Not only are they putting themselves out of a job, they're putting many others out of a job because of this. If they don't like it, get the fudge out and find another job. That goes for anyone in real life. I didn't really like my job and there was always joking about going on strike, but I wouldn't ever do it because movie theatre staff are important too. If they went on strike, it wouldn't matter if the writer's wrote something or not; there wouldn't be a place to watch it. At least a sanitary place. It's seems like one, big, giant hissy-fit. Writer's are replaceable. Everyone is.

They were making money and making a living. If they want to strike something, or anyone for that matter, it should be for like the large number of unemployment here or the poor. Besides, this country depends so much on other countries; what's to stop them from negotiating with writers in freaking China??? Nothing's made in America anymore....

I still disagree.

They're people. People have rights, no matter where they work or what they earn. As you said, there's a lot of unemployment around. Some people just don't have the option of moving on to another job.

Besides, it's not really for either of us to judge. Unless we were directly involved there's no way to know all the details/reasons for the strike.

I agree with your idea of using writers internationally but it's good to keep some of your cultural roots.
